What types of fishing trips do you offer?

What’s included in my Astoria fishing charter?
All fishing gear is provided, including premium rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Your charter also includes boat fuel, safety gear, and expert guidance from Captain Jessie Moore Jr. You’re only responsible for your fishing license, food, drinks, and personal items.
What should I bring on my fishing trip?
Bring your Oregon fishing license and a Columbia River endorsement, along with snacks, drinks, layered clothing, sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, and a camera. We also recommend a cooler in your vehicle to transport your catch if retention is allowed.
When is the best time for salmon fishing in Astoria?
The best time for salmon fishing in Astoria is from August through early October, during the Buoy 10 season. Spring Chinook fishing is strong from March to May, while fall Chinook offer great action from late summer into September.
Do I need a fishing license for a Columbia River trip?
Yes, all anglers are required to have a valid Oregon fishing license and a Columbia River endorsement. Some species, like sturgeon or salmon, may also require tags. You can purchase your license online or ask the captain for assistance before your trip.
Where do your fishing charters launch from?
Our Columbia River fishing charters launch from Rainier, Oregon, offering fast access to prime fishing grounds near Astoria. Depending on conditions and species, we may fish anywhere from the estuary to further upriver locations.
Is catch cleaning included with the trip?
Yes, fish cleaning is included if the species caught are legal to retain. Captain Jesse will clean and prep your fish so it's ready to cook or freeze when you get home. Make sure to bring a cooler with ice to keep your fish fresh.
Are kids allowed on your fishing charters?
Yes, Jesse’s Guide Service welcomes families! Children are allowed on most trips, and we ensure appropriate safety gear is available. Please let us know in advance if you’ll have kids on board so we can prepare properly-sized life vests.
